Concert Ensembles
The Oakleaf Band has 3 concert ensembles: Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble. Each student is placed into a Band Class which is also their concert ensemble, with the exception of Percussion, who are all in one single period.
Wind Ensemble - Tuesdays 2:00-3:30
The Wind Ensemble is the premier concert ensemble at Oakleaf HS. This ensemble is audition only and typically performs literature from grades 4 to 6 on a regular basis. The Wind Ensemble rehearses once a week on Tuesdays from 2:00-3:30 after marching season has concluded.
Symphonic Band - Thursdays 2:00-3:30
The Symphonic Band is by audition only and typically performs literature from grades 2-4 on a regular basis. The Symphonic Band rehearses once a week on Thursdays from 2:00-3:30 after marching season has concluded.
Concert Band - Mondays 2:00-3:30
The Concert Band is our third ensemble and focuses on appropriate tone quality, rhythmic and pitch fundamentals, and performs literature from grades 1-3. This ensemble also combines with Symphonic Band during the second half of the Spring Semester. Prior to combining, Concert Band rehearses one day a week on Mondays from 2:00-3:30 after marching season has concluded.
